Caught in the rain
Once more, here I am again
Feeling this deep pain
As the clouds get dark,
So do the days
Sort of like my heart
The rain rages on
And the thunder calls my name
Suddenly I'm gone
To another place
Always needing to remind myself
That life isn't a race
Still it doesn't matter
As I look around
To see all that has shattered
The weather can't be tamed
Just like the storm in my soul
And this is what I call Purple Rain
It's time for the reign
Rising about the storm and
Leaving behind all the pain
Out of the dark
Swords drawn, armored up
Even patched up my heart
Life continues on and
I stand in my ground
Long after I'm gone
As I walk into my place
Confident and bold
I remember this is my race
I won the battle of war
Through blood and fire
Suddenly I want more
This queen can't be tamed
No force alive shall break her will
And this is what I call Purple Reign
